Mount Everest   In Asia there are the only mountains on the planet higher than 7,000 meters, with 14 of these even exceeding 8,000 meters above sea level.

   The 10 highest peaks are part of the Himalayas, with the exception of K2, located in the Karakoram; most of these peaks are found in China and Nepal or along their borders.

   The following table shows all the 8,000 and the other most important and significant mountains in Asia; the highest peaks are all in Central Asia, in other parts of the continent in fact such impressive elevations are not reached.
